IN THE BEGINNING

IN THE BEGINNING PHOTO.jpg

Our 75 acre campground is situated on the shores of Lake Pleasant, in the community of Springfield, Nova Scotia.  It was originally purchased in the late 50s to be used for a welfare facility to boost morale for serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces.

In 1977, the campground was passed from the Canadian Forces Base Greenwood Town Council to Canadian Forces Base Greenwood Non Public Funds and is now under the guidance of the 14 Wing Greenwood Personnel Support Program, Recreation Director.  It was then that the Lake Pleasant Campers’ Club began!

The Lake Pleasant Campers’ Club was established under the authority of the Wing Commander and is operated in accordance with regulations and orders governing the operation of Recreation Clubs in the Canadian Armed Forces.  We have the privilege of being responsible for the safe keeping and day-to-day operation of this campground.
